What "Research Use Only" Means in the UAE
A compound labelled for research use only is not licensed or approved for human or veterinary use in the UAE. Free-zone or overseas-registered storefronts with no verifiable UAE presence are harder to hold accountable if a shipment is delayed, seized, or misrepresented. A supplier with disclosed UAE distribution and clear customs handling is lower-risk than one that is vague about where the product physically ships from.
Import and Customs
UAE customs authorities do inspect shipments of health-adjacent products, and enforcement has tightened in recent years. Orders shipped from UAE-held stock with correct research-use labelling and documentation clear more predictably than international shipments, which can be delayed or held at customs for review — sometimes indefinitely if paperwork is incomplete.
